Firefighter/EMT – Fire Inspector

About the role

KBR is seeking a qualified Firefighter/EMT to join its fire and emergency services team at Camp Lemonnier Naval Base in Djibouti. The role combines structural and airport firefighting, emergency medical response, fire inspection, and public education duties on a rotating schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Perform fire suppression for structural and aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) incidents.
• Provide Emergency Medical Responder services and CPR as needed.
• Conduct fire prevention and safety inspections in accordance with DoD, US Navy, NFPA, and local regulations.
• Deliver fire safety education, evacuation drills, and public presentations.
• Investigate fire incidents, document findings, and maintain fire equipment and apparatus.
• Complete administrative tasks, maintain appearance, physical fitness, and grooming standards.
• Serve as crew chief or fill‑in firefighter when required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years experience as a Fire Inspector and two years as a Firefighter.
• Valid passport (book) with minimum 12 months validity.
• Fluency in English.

Required skills

• DoD/IFSAC/ProBoard Fire Fighter I & II certifications.
• DoD/IFSAC/ProBoard Airport Firefighter certification.
• DoD/IFSAC/ProBoard HazMat Awareness & Operations certification.
• DoD/IFSAC/ProBoard Fire Inspector I & II certifications.
• DoD/IFSAC/ProBoard Fire Instructor I certification.
• DoD/IFSAC/ProBoard HazMat Technician certification (preferred).
• DoD/IFSAC/ProBoard Driver Operator – Pumper, ARFF, Aerial, MWS (preferred).
• Emergency Medical Responder certification and CPR certification.
